Kansas Radon Project: no-cost kits, mailing paused
Free mail-in kits for Kansas residents. On October 1, 2026, the request form said they are not mailing kits.
Partners: the Masonic Cancer Alliance (University of Kansas Cancer Center), the Kansas Radon Program, and the Kansas Department of Health and Environment, with CDC funding. Official page: Kansas Radon Program.
When kits go out
- Request a kit. It is mailed within 7 to 10 business days.
- Register it with Alpha Energy Labs, using the program page instructions.
- Results usually come by email about 7 days after the lab gets the kit.
- Questions: Kansas Radon Program hotline, 1-800-693-5343.
Your result is shared with the Masonic Cancer Alliance so they can follow up with support and information.
The request form on October 1, 2026
The KUMC request form said they are not mailing kits, and that hot weather and open windows make summer tests less accurate. You can join a waitlist. The form said mailing would resume October 1, 2026, but the notice was still up that day.
Until the form says kits are going out, do not count on one.
